Gay Cancun Travel Guide: Cancun was our first trial of Mexico as a gay couple and we immediately fell in admire with the destination, it’s no surprise it attracts gay travellers from all over the world
Cancun is known for grand all-inclusive hotels, pristine white beaches, crystal clear waters and if you are up for it, it has a huge party scene on the main strip (and you will also find some gay bars in Cancun downtown!).
You can also experience some unbelievable trips from Cancun including excursions to the renowned Chichen Itza, Isla Mujeres, jump into a cenote or go scuba diving! This is a destination where you can possess the perfect mix of luxury and adventure!
Of course, we were curious about gay scene in Cancun given the high number of tourists, even if it was just a couple of gay bars or clubs.
We knew it was not going to be one of those ‘super gay’ destinations enjoy Puerto Vallarta, however we were keen to unwind with a couple of nights out mixed in.

Gay Playa Del Carmen keeps us coming back for more, we’ve visited multiple times and possess simply fallen in love with this beautiful, gay kind coastal town. When it comes to gay destinations in Mexico, it is one of our favorite.
On first impressions, we were very impressed. Stunning beaches, the crystal-clear fluid you would anticipate from the Caribbean, an abundance of restaurants, and what looked to be plenty of nightlife options stretching along the main highway of 5th Road. We loved it straight away, and knew we were going to contain a great time.
But what about gay Playa del Carmen? With so much on offer for your general holidaymakers, did Playa del Carmen have anything to offer Queer travellers in Mexico?
Whilst researching ‘gay Playa del Carmen’ it seemed that there wasn’t really anything LGBTQ+ specific available….
However, we quickly realised that the reason for this was that Playa del Carmen is such a gay kind and welcoming place to all tourists, and as a result, everything from bars to beaches is integrated.
