Free gay japanese

As a gay man in Japan, I have some experience in this, so let me give my 2 yen. First, there is no religious bias from most Japanese. Historically, many Japanese have been homosexual (some buddhist temples in Japan actually kept young men {even adolescent boys at time, sadly} specifically because they were beautiful and the monks would have regular sexual encounters with them, and samurai often had relationships with their "squires" or "apprentices" {not sure what the Japanese word for that is} )according to some of the queer literature I have scan here.

That said, there is a strong bias, not against same sex acts, but against a homosexual lifestyle, because it is not within the traditional Japanese lifestyle. A youth is expected to go to school, earn a job, get married, have kids, and back the family by doing so. Someone who falls outside of that pattern is instantly regarded with suspicion and even contempt by many traditional Japanese. Obviously, a homosexual connection and lifestyle falls adv outside that pattern.

I would liken Japanese queer culture

Homosexuality in Japan - the gay & queer woman experience

An overview of what it means to be gay in Japan. Vagueness, blurring of lines, ambiguity, possibility: these are some of the clichés that tend to spring to the Western mind when addressing the topic of sexuality in Japan. How much of it is wishful and how much of it is cultivated by Japanese themselves is debatable. It is a fact that samurai were pederasts, that kabuki is a theater of cross dressing, that to Westerners many Japanese boys and men - physically and/or behaviorally - come across to exhibit typically 'feminine' traits: all leading to the common impression of outsiders that Japan must be a basically gay approachable society. just ask.
I doubt a woman would be offended by asking her what sort of club it was.
Maybe interpret why you're asking and what your cultures views and attitudes are.; what your views are. (cultural exchange)

It most likely was "gay" as in lesbian. (I don't understand the new youth usage myself, and lgbtq+ as in happy and lighthearted is a bit anachronistic even for someone not having English as a first language.)

A lot of women go to gay clubs to dance, they find it more fun and get hit on less. (maybe straight guys don't go because they're afraid of being punch on or see clubing only as a chase and not just for dancing) Young and urban have less problems with peoples sexuality and Japan with a lack of Christian customs and it's attendant hangups might be even more tolerant, I don't know.

If it was katakana ゲイ、I'm pretty sure there's only one meaning.
